The Imperial Barrel Awards (IBA) encourages Geoscience graduate students to explore a career in the energy industry by participating in the Award Program.
AAPG’s IBA 2013 Competition – European Region
The 2013 competition for the European Region took place in Prague from the 21-24 March with 19 Universities all competing for the opportunity to present at the finals in PIttsburgh, Pennsylvania USA in May 2013.
We are delighted to announce the winners of the 2013 AAPG Imperial Barrel Awards European Regional Finals in Prague last week:
In first place, The University of Manchester (Martin Kennedy, Rhiannon Jones, Heather Wilson, Papi Ogban and Faculty Advisor: Christophe Serié)
In second place, The University of Leoben (Jan Mayer, Maria Nievoll, Judit Pupos, Bernhard Rupprecht, Anna Irene Stanzel and Faculty Advisor: Doris Reischenbacher) 
And in third place, The University of Southampton (Ben Hannam, Alexandra Cookson, Thomas Goode, Alexander Gillespie, Richard Turner and Faculty Advisor: Mark Vardy) 
Congratulations to all the teams that participated this year; it was a fantastic event and a pleasure to meet you all.
